The conversion of the heritage-listed former tram depot in Erdberg, Vienna´s 3rd district into the Museum of Public Transport, with a newly designed 5500 square-metre permanent exhibition. Covering a history of 150 years of public transport, the Museum features one of the largest collections of historic vehicles in the world.
Apart from the tram cars, buses and subway trains on display, there are 14 display modules of historical and human-interest stories elaborating on the evolution of Vienna’s public transport system throughout the years. These box-like modules are portable in order to enable the transformation the exhibition space into an event location.
