DO THE DUTCH STUMBLE OVER THEIR STAIRS LESS THAN AUSTRIANS?

The exhibition “Form follows Paragraph” brings to the fore various sets of rules without which architecture is impossible — laws, regulations, guidelines and standards have become important co-designers of the built environment.

We at PLANET are confronted with these rules and regulations on a daily basis. What a great opportunity to discover regulations as international comparisons!

Vividly and concretely, critically and in some examples also unintentionally funny, the show reveals the otherwise invisible background of architecture and urban development.

We developed 1:1 staircase builds of different countries (e.g. Japan, Netherlands, USA, Australia); when walking up the stairs you can experience the different sensations of walking up unfamiliar steps.
