FROM INDUSTRIALIZATION TO THE FUTURE OF WORK
The spectrum of objects on display ranges from historical documents and photos to original, spectacularly restored vehicles - made in Steyr.
For the smaller exhibits, we designed steel-framed display cases reflecting the industrial era.
Each room holds new experiences with various perspectives on the eventful history of the city of Steyr as an industrial location.
The museum - formerly a factory - itself is thereby becoming an exhibition object.
We have deliberately kept the exhibition walls lower in order to allow visitors to experience the special atmosphere of the historical factory.
Steyr was the first European city with electric street lighting.
A huge walk-in installation shows for the first time the "Electric Provincial, Industrial and Forestry Exhibition" from 1884, the fourth of its kind worldwide. During this exhibition, streets and alleys in Steyr, among others, were lighted electrically.
